It only seems like a few short weeks ago that the kids were starting out on their school holidays. Now it’s time to prepare for their return to school or college.

It will be an emotional time for some parents who will see their youngsters starting in school for the first time, a daunting experience for some of our junior infants. Other children will be preparing to change classes and step up to an older age group. Some will be entering second level and a new school environment with new friends and new teachers.

Whatever level of schooling your child will be going to in the next weeks, it’s only natural that you will want the very best for them and to have them looking well for their big day.

It’s amazing the lengths that some people will go to keep children happy. At Creation Hair Salon in Smithstown Susan Bryant has installed a special chair for children so that they can enjoy sitting in a colourful Mini Cooper when having their hair styled.

Creation is a unisex salon that is ideally set up for children that even has a DVD to entertain them while they wait. Susan has a number of special offers for Back to School and there’s no doubt your child will look forward to returning for their next haircut. Susan also provides a professional service for ladies and gents, so why not check out her offers now and call into her in the SEED building.

While you’re in Smithstown don’t forget to call into the Art & Craft Company where you will find an extensive range of materials for both pupils and teachers. You might even be thinking of taking up a new craft hobby or painting, if so the Art & Craft Co. have everything you will need.

One of the most popular businesses in SkyCourt Shannon is of course McLoughney’s Newsagents. Once again they have all your Back to School needs under one roof. With helpful staff to advise you really can’t go wrong at McLoughneys.

Finally the Vanity Booth and The Millers Loft Bistro in Sixmilebridge are cooperating in a  range of offers for the ladies once the children are back at school. Relax and indulge yourself with their beauty treatment offers from only €30 that combine coffee afterwards in the Millers Loft. For that you get a facial treatment, eye lash tint, eyebrow shape and your coffee, now that’s what I call good value! With the kids settled back into school, spoil yourselves mums with a nice relaxing bit of pampering.

Enjoy yourself and best of luck to all children returning to school.
